Mismanagement

OK, so we should be happy that the Bucs won last night against the Rockies. But, in some respects, they had to overcome a clear faux pas by Mr. McClendon. In the eighth, the Bucs loaded the bases with one out and had Jose Mesa bat. Now, McClendon had made an interesting decision in the top of the inning to use Mesa to get the final out. That is not his usual style; he usually saves Jose for the ninth. I actually like the strategy of bringing in the closer for the key out in the eighth. But...he didn't double switch. So, Mesa's spot ends up coming up in the order. Personally, I pinch hit and try to blow the game open.

What a day

Interesting day in the 'burgh. Counting them down...

3) Big Country got his first major league appearance. Got his first start. Got his first hit. And then gave the fans his first diasppointment. Bases loaded, 1 out in the nith. Sac fly would have won the game. But he struck out.

2) Carl Krauser comes back to Pitt. Gives the Panthers a fighting shot next year.

3) Pens win the draft lottery. Will get the next mario. Should be fun. Now if the nhl could only find a tv contract.

Answers

1) As predicted below, the return of Craig Wilson has caused David Ross to be sent to the minors. More potential at-bats for Doumit (although at his current rate, that may not be a good thing). So, who becomes Mr. Redman's personal catcher now?
2) Is Zach Duke finally the pitcher pittsburgh has been waiting a decade for or is he yet another charaltan who'll tease us?
3) Nice comeback over the mets. This makes up for the 1st of the mesa blown saves against the cubs.

Bleed Like Me

Ouch. This is getting very painful to watch. What will cause the bleeding to end? Or is there no blod clot in sight? What will be the trade to shake up the team? Matt Lawton for a bag of sunflower seeds (can you get more than that for him)?
